Ahead of Computes, Taiwanese PC maker ECS has announced it will be showing off several recent mini PCs at the show, as well as introducing two new models.The new ECS LIVA Z15 Plus is a compact desktop computer with an Intel Core Series 3 “Wildcat Lake” processor, while the LIVA Q4 is a smaller fanless PC with “an ultra-compact form factor” and a low-power Intel “Twin Lake” processor.Left: ECS LIVA Z15 Plus / Right: ECS LIVA Q4ECS hasn’t shared many details about the LIVA Z15 Plus yet, but an image of a small desktop PC shows a system with five USB ports on the front (one USB Type-C, two USB 3.x Type-A and what looks like two USB 2.0 ports), along with a headphone jack and power button.Under the hood, it features one of Intel’s new Wildcat Lake budget processors. These chips are based on the same architecture as higher-performance Panther Lake chips, but feature fewer CPU and GPU cores, lower max frequencies, and lower-performance NPUs. In some cases, single-threaded CPU performance could come close to what you’d expect from a Panther Lake processor, but Intel’s pricier, higher-performance processors come out way ahead in multi-core CPU and graphics performance.We have more details about the LIVA Q4, thanks to a recent ECS Product Guide that provides specs for this little computer.It measures just 75 x 75 x 35mm (2.95″ x 2.95″ x 1.38″) and comes with a choice of Intel N150 or N250 processors. These are both 6 watt, 4-core, 4-thread chips that are part of the Twin Lake lineup, but the N250 has a higher-performance GPU and a slightly faster CPU.Other features include 8GB or 16GB of LPDDR5-4800 onboard memory, 128GB of eMMC storage, support for WiFi, and a set of ports that includes:1 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C (10 Gbps with DisplayPort Alt Mode)2 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A (10 Gbps)1 x USB Type-C (for charging only)2 x HDMI1 x 2.5 GbE LANThis model does not appear to have a dedicated audio jack and wireless capabilities are said to to “support up to 2.4 Gbps,” which seems to suggest that the system only supports WiFi 4 out of the box. But if you need faster networking you could either use the Ethernet port for a wired connection or use a USB port to add a WiFi 5 or faster dongle.The LIVA Q4 comes with a 45 watt USB Type-C power adapter.press release
