New castle tours, special events for children and improved accessibility for visitors with disabilities are among the highlights of the summer season at the popular Bojnice Castle in the Upper Nitra region of western Slovakia.

The changes come as the castle prepares for a major reconstruction project scheduled for 2026 to 2029. According to the Slovak National Museum (SNM), which operates the site, no major restrictions for visitors are expected during the coming season.

“We’re currently preparing for the restoration of this national cultural monument, so we’d like to offer visitors something they haven’t seen at the castle before,” SNM director Slavomíra Lenhartová told the TASR news agency.
