The Honda Fit 1.5 Hybrid e:HEV combines strong fuel efficiency with smooth hybrid performance.

When the Honda Fit first hit the scene in the early 2000s, it revolutionised the small hatch segment, at least when the conversation was about sensible things like practicality and versatility.

Mind you, in manual form, it was surprisingly fun to drive too. But the real drawcard was its roomy, cab-forward cabin and innovative ‘Magic’ seats. It was as if someone shrank a minivan down to compact car proportions.

For the first three generations, it wore the Jazz badge in our market, in line with European markets, but the fourth generation, introduced in 2021, reverted to its domestic name of Fit.

2024 brought a slight facelift, as well as revisions to the hybrid version’s powertrain, which saw its system output increase by 10kW to 90kW. We recently got to sample the hybrid for the first time after Honda put one into its test fleet and, as far as powertrains go, it is a true gem.
