A special court in Puducherry on Monday (May 26, 2026) sentenced a 24-year-old man to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment in a case filed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.Special court judge M.D. Sumathi passed the order sentencing R. Ezhilarasan, alias Bomb Ezhil, 24, of Arumparthapuram in Puducherry, for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl in 2023. The judge also ordered a compensation of ₹4 lakh to the survivor.The man was arrested by the Lawspet police on charges of kidnapping and sexual assault. Published - May 26, 2026 02:20 pm IST
