Footage circulating on Chinese social media platforms showed Sunday that some tourists had been sharing a "travel hack" for making instant noodles at the airport.
One user wrote that airport convenience stores did not provide hot water, but that nursing rooms offered free hot water, suggesting travelers use the facilities instead. Some posts went further, sharing detailed directions to nearby convenience stores and nursing rooms, The Korea Herald reported.
Other users shared similar experiences, with one saying airport staff had stopped them from using the facility.
"I thought only eating inside was prohibited, but they wouldn't even allow me to get hot water," the user wrote, saying they had explained they only planned to take water and leave immediately.
The airport's nursing room is for infants and their guardians. A notice posted at the facility reads: "Only children under 3, pregnant women and one accompanying guardian may use the room. Sleeping and eating are prohibited," according to Korea Joongang Daily.
