The Kwara State Government has approved the payment of a 30 per cent peculiar allowance for workers in media houses, agencies, and parastatals who were previously excluded from the earlier implementation granted to mainstream civil servants.

The approval was announced on Monday in Ilorin through the Office of the Head of Service, following what the government described as a renewed push to deepen equity and inclusiveness across the state’s public service structure.

The Acting Head of Service, Olufunke Shittu, disclosed the development in a statement issued by the Press Secretary, Office of the Head of Service, Okanlawon Solomon, noting that the decision aligned with ongoing welfare reforms.

Shittu said, “This approval reflects the government’s unwavering commitment to fairness, workers’ welfare, and inclusiveness across all cadres of the state workforce.”
