Tabnak, citing Pakistan Television (PTV), reported that Pakistan’s Army Chief, Asim Munir, accompanied by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, has traveled to Beijing to meet and hold talks with Chinese officials.

According to the report, Asim Munir, who has been repeatedly named in recent weeks as one of the mediators in the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States, will hold consultations during this trip regarding regional developments, including the Iran-U.S. negotiation dossier and the trajectory of the current talks.

Asim Munir had previously traveled to Tehran twice, once in April and again in early May, as part of Pakistan’s diplomatic mediation efforts between the Islamic Republic and the United States. During those visits, he met and held talks with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, President Masoud Pezeshkian, and a number of Iranian military and security officials, including commanders of the Khatam-al Anbiya Central Headquarters.
