Pakistan's army chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, is set to visit Tehran on Monday, Iran's foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said on Sunday.
Baghaei said the visit was a continuation of Pakistan's efforts to strengthen peace and security in the region.
This follows a phone call between Munir and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in which the pair reportedly discussed the regional situation and ways to revive stalled ceasefire talks.
In a post on X, Iran's foreign ministry said that the two discussed “regional developments and effective ways to strengthen peace, stability and security in West Asia".
The discussions come amid a renewed push to revive talks by mediators Pakistan and Qatar.
