Former Edo State AAC Chairman, Hafiz Lawal Onokhuai, has emerged as the party’s candidate for the 2027 Edo North Senatorial election following a consensus arrangement adopted during the African Action Congress (AAC) primary process.
The party’s selection process, conducted ahead of the forthcoming general election, was held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, with members concluding the exercise under the supervision of relevant stakeholders.
It was reportedly monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Nigeria Police Force, and the Department of State Services (DSS).
Onokhuai said his emergence came through a consensus mode of the primary election.
