A former Secretary General of the African Action Congress (AAC), Engr. Okopi Agu, has been affirmed as the party’s consensus candidate for the Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency in Saturday’s state primaries held at the party secretariat, KM 5, Gboko Road, Makurdi.
Agu, who was the sole aspirant for the ticket, received a unanimous and rousing endorsement from delegates and party faithful who thronged the secretariat in a carnival-like atmosphere, reflecting his broad-based acceptance across the constituency.
Party members said Agu is a consummate patriot and quintessential grassroots mobiliser, adding that the candidate is a trained engineer with deep professional experience spanning renewable energy and the agricultural sector, where he also operates as a practising farmer.
