U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were up 0.3% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 0.2%. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.

In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 gained 0.5% in morning trading. Softcat rose 11.5% and Delivery Hero added 4.4%. On the other hand, Puig Brands slipped 13.7%, and Julius Baer Gruppe lost 6%. The FTSE 100 added 0.3%. Other stocks in Europe were up as France's CAC 40 increased 0.4% and Germany's DAX climbed 0.6%.

The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index rose 0.1% to 95.88.

In commodities, Brent crude rose 2.4% to $105.04 a barrel, and WTI crude gained 2% to $98.25 a barrel. The European benchmark price for natural gas, the Dutch futures contract TTF, was down 2.8% to 48.04 euros a megawatt hour.

The German 10-year Bund yield declined by 4 basis points to 3.064% from 3.1%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury held steady at 4.573%. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.
