Singaporean state-owned energy and urban development company Sembcorp is looking to build a 280MW data center at Wilton International, an industrial park in Teesside, North East England.

The company’s British subsidiary Sembcorp Energy UK hopes to develop the data center with Digital Reef, a property firm that is also behind a proposed 600MW data center in Havering, Essex.

The pair are looking to build three data center buildings on a 154,553 sqm (1,663,595 sq ft) land parcel acquired by Sembcorp for £3.5 million ($4.7m) in July 2025.

The site was formerly owned by Peak Rare Earths, an Australian mining company that was acquired by Chinese rare earths producer Shenghe Resources in September 2025
