Mahendran, a 28-year-old resident of Kurumbapalayam in Coimbatore who died after a road accident, has given a new lease of life to five people through organ donation. He was under treatment at Kumaran Medical Centre but was declared brain dead by the doctors; his family came forward to donate his organs. Doctors at Kumaran Medical Center retrieved his liver, kidneys, small intestine and eyes. The organs were transplanted to patients in need, helping save five lives.
