Fuel prices in Bulgaria may be heading toward a phase of convergence between gasoline and diesel, according to industry commentary on the current market dynamics, Nova TV reports. Dimitar Hadzhidimitrov from the Association of Bulgarian Traders, Producers, Importers and Transporters of Fuels said that under stable conditions, gasoline could see a slight increase in the coming days, leading to a leveling of prices between the two fuels.

“If everything remains as calm as it is now, we may see gasoline prices rise slightly in the final days, and we could see gasoline and diesel prices equalize,” he noted, adding that broader global stability and the reopening of transport corridors could bring noticeably lower fuel prices within two to three months as global demand gradually weakens.

He also pointed out that diesel prices have already begun to ease, with reductions of around 7 to 10 euro cents per liter at Bulgarian gas stations over recent weeks. In contrast, gasoline has edged higher, mainly due to seasonal demand ahead of the summer travel period.

Hadzhidimitrov further commented on the 23 anti-crisis measures proposed by the Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC), describing them as necessary steps to preserve market balance and competition. However, he also highlighted pressure on smaller fuel retailers caused by unusually low margins in recent months.
