Summer travel along Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast is getting a boost as Bulgaria Air reactivates its seasonal Sofia-Burgas route, offering a fast air link between the capital and the seaside city.
The first flights are scheduled to begin on June 5, initially operating up to four times per week. From June 30, the service will shift to a daily schedule, significantly increasing flexibility for both holidaymakers and business travelers heading to the coast.
One of the main advantages of the route is its timing. Evening departures from Sofia make it possible to finish the workday in the capital and reach Burgas in roughly 50 minutes, allowing passengers to plan short weekend trips, meetings, or longer summer holidays without losing time on long road journeys.
The flights will be operated using Airbus A220 aircraft from the Bulgaria Air fleet. The airline highlights the aircraft’s modern cabin design, including quieter interiors, improved air conditioning systems, wider seating, larger windows, and increased personal space for passengers.
The A220 aircraft also feature newer, more fuel-efficient technology designed to reduce emissions, making the route more environmentally efficient compared to traditional transport options. Each seat, regardless of class, is equipped with a USB port for charging electronic devices during the flight.
