The video, which emerged after the controversial primary exercise, has intensified allegations that the senatorial primaries in Adamawa were heavily compromised before delegates cast their votes.
A fresh controversy has erupted within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) after a viral video surfaced allegedly showing the chairman of the party’s Adamawa Senatorial Primary Elections Committee, Usman Mapeo, publicly announcing disputed results despite reported directives from the APC national headquarters prohibiting such declarations.
The video, which emerged after the controversial primary exercise, has intensified allegations that the senatorial primaries in Adamawa were heavily compromised before delegates cast their votes.
Party insiders claimed the figures announced by Mapeo had already been circulating since Sunday, a day before the scheduled primary election, fueling accusations that the process was pre-arranged to favour preferred aspirants.
Particularly troubling to aggrieved stakeholders was the inclusion of former aspirant Peter Fwa in the announced results despite resigning from the APC three days before the primary election and did not participate in the exercise.
