When President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping first met face-to-face at Mar-a-Lago nine years ago, they discussed Taiwan, Beijing’s support for U.S. adversaries, and deteriorating trade relations between their two countries. These topics were once again on the table last week in China, where the two leaders gathered for a two-day summit.
