More than P100 million worth of illegal drugs were seized in various operations conducted from May 7 to 14, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said on Tuesday.PDEA spokesperson Joseph Frederick Calulut said the operations were conducted in cooperation with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and other law enforcement agencies. Data from PDEA showed that authorities seized P101.13 million worth of dangerous drugs in 88 anti-illegal drug operations conducted in the said period. In those operations held, 101 individuals were arrested. “Ang malalaking operations ho rito yung nangyari sa Zamboanga City, this was PNP initiated, kung saan 5 kilo ng shabu ang nakumpiska sa tatlong indibidwal. Mayroon din sa Marikina na isang kilo din ang nakuha natin diyan, this happened last May 12,” he said. (The large operations here include the one that happened in Zamboanga City—this was PNP-initiated—where 5 kilograms of shabu were confiscated from three individuals. There was also one in Marikina where we recovered one kilogram, this happened last May 12.) “Noong May 8, diyan sa Mati City, Davao Oriental, mayroong nakuhang kalahating kilo ho ng ilegal na droga. Plus sa Parañaque din po, isang kilo din ng shabu ang nakuha doon. Kasama pa ho dito yung 10 marijuana eradication campaign na ginawa natin sa Cordillera.” (On May 8, there in Mati City, Davao Oriental, half a kilogram of illegal drugs was recovered.
