Former federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Kaduna Central senatorial primary election, even as fresh allegations of imposition and irregularities continue to trail the exercise.
Sani was declared winner after polling 9,105 votes in results announced from the Senechora District Cabinet Centre on May 18, 2026, where three candidates contested the primary.
According to the returning officer, Senator Mutu Denali scored 1,051 votes, while Uthman Yarima Shatima polled 1,253 votes.
With the highest votes, Sani was declared the party’s candidate for the senatorial race.
