Downpour, gusty winds uproot trees, throw life out of gear in Hubballi

An autorickshaw was caught under a falling tree as downpour coupled with gusty winds resulted in uprooting of several trees in Hubballi on Monday evening.

Heavy donwpour coupled with gusty winds resulted in uprooting of several trees and waterlogging at various junctions throwing life out of gear in Hubballi on Monday evening.Although the downpour lasted about half an hour, it was the gusty winds that created havoc.As uprooted trees, broken branches fell across the roads and downpour resulted in waterlogging, the city witnessed kilometre-long traffic jams on various roads.The gusty winds also resulted in severing of cables and consequent to the uprooting of trees, power supply was shut down across the city only to resume late in the night.
