“In the land of giants” may sound like the start of a fairytale, but what if you could actually sleep like one?
At South Korea’s RYSE, Autograph Collection hotel in Hongdae, Seoul, the Curator Suite 1503 is challenging the “conventional notions of accommodation” with an enormous extra-long bed, nearly stretching across the entire room.
Created in collaboration with MSCHF, a Brooklyn-based art collective, the art installation-style suite includes "BED2525", designed under the concept of a “long bed for long sleep in the far future”.
The idea came about from the apparent need for larger-scale, more appropriately sized accommodations as humans continue to grow taller with each generation and in readiness for when giants may once again walk the Earth.
While the jury is out on how soon supersized creatures may make a comeback, the oversized bed at this Seoul stay looks like it would take several housekeeping battalions to change the sheets.
