Bahar Sahraeian, a defense attorney and member of the Fars Province Bar Association, was arrested in Shiraz on Saturday, May 16.
According to a report by Emtedad, the attorney was detained while attending the Shiraz Revolutionary Court to follow up on her legal casework.
Per the report, she was transferred to the prosecutor’s office this morning to be formally arraigned. She has been charged with “assembly and collusion with the intent to commit acts against national security,” “propaganda activity against the Islamic regime,” and “publishing falsehoods.”
Bahar Sahraeian was previously arrested in 2022. She is recognized as an active human rights lawyer in Shiraz and frequently handles cases related to women’s and children’s rights.
