Light rain in Madurai city on Sunday proved to be a welcome relief to the residents from the hot summer conditions. It turned out to be a breezy and pleasant Sunday evening.Some of the places in the city that received light rainfall include Teppakulam, Anna Nagar, K.K. Nagar, Kamarajar Salai, Goripalayam, Vilakkuthoon, Periyar and Therkuvasal and surrounding areas.While the city received light rainfall, Madurai district has recorded moderate to heavy rainfall. Places like Tirumangalam, Kappalur, Panaiyur, Samanatham, Tirunagar and surrounding areas recorded moderate to heavy rainfall.Places bordering Madurai and Sivaganga districts also recorded moderate to heavy rainfall.
