Teachers and pupils are said to continue academic activities under hazardous conditions, raising fresh questions about the implementation of ongoing education infrastructure projects in the FCT.
Pupils of the LEA Primary School, Makanima, located opposite the military barracks in Giri area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, and within the vicinity of the University of Abuja permanent site, are reportedly learning under deteriorating and unsafe classroom conditions.
This is despite claims of multi-billion naira investments in school rehabilitation across the territory.
The school, according to civic technology organisation Monitoring for Integrity in Nigeria (MonITNG), remains in a state of neglect with damaged roofs and exposed classrooms, leaving pupils vulnerable during rainfall and extreme weather conditions.
Photographs from the school show sections of classroom buildings with torn-off roofing structures, exposing learning spaces to heat, rain, and storms.
