The first passenger traffic figures for the start of the summer season reflect different trends in popular Greek destinations.

Mykonos and Rhodes entered the season at a slower pace, recording weaker dynamics compared to previous years. On the other hand, Santorini shows clear signs of recovery, appearing to leave behind the difficult last year, when the intense seismic activity of the winter months of 2025 had significantly affected the island.

At the same time, Hania and Corfu confirm their position as a certainty for Greek tourism, having been significantly strengthened by the increased traffic of Easter.

It should be noted that this year many travelers remain cautious because of the rise in airfares, due to the increase in the price of aviation fuel from the conflict in the Middle East.

In April, the number of passengers on the international network at Mykonos airport fell by 26.2% on an annual basis, to 12,826, while the overall decrease was 14.9%, to 39,518.
