Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command attached to the Anti-Cultism Sub-Unit of the newly created Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) have arrested a suspected armed robber and recovered a stolen vehicle, hard drugs, phones and other incriminating items during separate intelligence-led operations across the state.
The command announced this in a statement released on Friday, signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe.
According to the statement, one of the operations was carried out on May 6, 2026, around the Nkwubor axis of Emene in Enugu East Local Government Area, where operatives acting on credible intelligence raided a suspected drug distribution point.
Police said the suspected drug dealer, identified only by the nickname “Doc,” escaped immediately he sighted the operatives, abandoning his shop and several items believed to be linked to illicit drug activities.
