The Enugu State Police Command has arrested a 28-year-old suspected cultist and armed robbery suspect, recovering a gun-like object, a dagger, and substances suspected to be hard drugs during an operation in Enugu metropolis.
The suspect, identified as Osani Joseph, was arrested by operatives attached to the Anti-Cultism Sub-Unit of the Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) following what the police described as credible intelligence.
According to a statement issued on Saturday by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Enugu State Command, SP Daniel Ndukwe, the operation was carried out on May 26, 2026, at about 8:30 p.m. at a location described as a criminal blackspot in the New Artisan area of Enugu.
