A 53-year-old woman Parvathi was found murdered in Srinivas Nagar area of Akkayyapalem under IV Town police station limits here in the city on Thursday. Police suspect that this could be a case of murder for gain, since the ornaments on her body were reportedly missing.
As per the initial reports, unidentified persons reportedly strangulated her and took away the ornaments.
Police sources said Parvathi’s husband runs a pan shop in the locality. The incident has created panic among the local residents.
A case has been registered and police teams are examining clues from the scene. A dog squad has also reached the spot.
