An aged woman was murdered allegedly for jewellery near Tiruchengode on Tuesday (February 24, 2026).
The deceased, K. Rathinam, alias Rathinammal (83), a resident of Kalivelampalayam near Tiruchengode, was residing alone in her house. On Tuesday morning, nearby residents found the house’s front door locked outside. Residents alerted Rathinam’s relatives and the Tiruchengode Rural police. The police rushed to the spot and found Rathinam dead with stab injuries. The police sent the body to Namakkal Government Hospital for post-mortem.
