Citizens’ Voice Coimbatore petitioned the District Collector seeking strict action against the growing use of hazardous plastic materials and improper plastic waste disposal practices.

In the petition, the organisation said plastic waste had emerged as both an environmental and public health concern, with banned and low-grade plastic materials continuing to be used in shops, eateries, tea stalls and meat counters due to their low cost.
