Officials from the Women and Child Welfare Department successfully prevented the child marriage of a 17-year-old girl in Amalapuram mandal of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Konaseema district. According to an official release issued on Tuesday, women and child welfare officials intervened in the planned wedding of a minor girl on Monday and halted it. They counselled the girl’s family of the legal implications.
