The Koyambedu Traffic Investigation Police are on the lookout for a 45-year-old man in a hit-and-run case involving an unidentified person near the Koyambedu flyover on Monday night.
The police said a speeding car, owned by Gandhi of Anna Nagar West Extension, hit a 40-year-old man, who was crossing Poonamallee High Road near the Koyambedu flyover, on Monday night. Immediately, the car’s driver asked an autorickshaw driver to take the victim to a private hospital in Arumbakkam and left the spot. However, the man was pronounced dead at the hospital. The police sent the body to the Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem and booked a case against the car driver for causing the accident.
In another incident on the same day, Salman, 20, of Kodungaiyur was killed on Madhavaram Bypass Road. When he was returning home on his two-wheeler, he lost control of his vehicle when he tried to overtake a lorry. He fell and was killed on the spot.
