In nearly 96% of towns and cities, representing 42.6 million people in France, the municipal elections ended in the first round on Sunday, March 15. In about 1,500 remaining cities, voters were once again called to the polls this Sunday to choose their municipal leadership.
Here are the main results from the second round in 14 cities and towns that have drawn particular attention, either because a prominent political figure is a candidate or because a major city could change hands.
