Tiruchi MP Durai Vaiko has requested Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to provide a halt at the Pudukottai railway station for the Ayodhya-Rameswaram Express (22613/22614) in both directions.
In a memorandum to Mr. Vaishnaw, Mr. Durai Vaiko said the Pudukottai railway station, which falls under the Tiruchi Lok Sabha constituency, serves as an important transit point for passengers from several surrounding towns and villages.
A large number of pilgrims and passengers from the region travel to major religious destinations such as Ayodhya and Rameswaram. The absence of a halt for this train in Pudukottai causes considerable inconvenience to the travelling public.
Mr. Durai Vaiko said he had received representations from residents and passengers requesting a halt to be provided in Pudukottai for this train. Considering the passenger demand and the importance of the route for pilgrims and commuters, a halt in Pudukottai station for this train would greatly benefit the people of the region, he said.
