The Plus Two public examination began in Tirunelveli district on Monday.
The district has 73 examination centres for 19,835 candidates, and a special centre at Palayamkottai Central Jail for inmates appearing for the examination. Seventy-four Chief Superintendents, 74 Department Officers, 10 Additional Chief Superintendents, 10 Additional Department Officers and 19 route officials have been appointed to ensure hassle-free conduct of the public examination. More than 1,440 invigilators and flying and static squads with 150 teachers have been deployed.
A total of 193 scribes have been appointed for writing the examination on behalf of physically challenged candidates.
Collector R. Sukumar inspected the examination centre at MDT Hindu College Higher Secondary School in Tirunelveli Junction.
In Tenkasi, 16,222 students of 154 schools are writing the public examination in 69 centres across the district. A total of 69 Chief Superintendents, 72 department officials, 1,010 invigilators, 92 static teams and four flying squads have been deployed.
