As many as 10,866 students — 5,521 girls and 5,039 boys — will sit for Class 12 examinations, which begin on Monday. In addition to the regular students, 306 private candidates will sit for the examinations.A total of 47 centres have been established in the district for the purpose. The students of 103 higher secondary schools will write the examinations. Similarly, arrangements have been made for the candidates, who did not clear Class XII examinations, to write arrears.According to sources, 724 invigilators will be on duty. Flying squads will pay surprise visits to the centres to prevent malpractice and 100 teachers have been drafted for the purpose. Nearly 47 headmasters will act as principal invigilators. The examinations will conclude on March 27.K. Vimalraj, District Revenue Officer, in a statement, said that all steps were taken to ensure that examination was conducted in a trouble-free manner. Students would not be allowed to carry mobile phone and electronic gadgets into the examination halls. Arrangements have been made to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
