A total of 17,375 candidates did not appear for the Group 2 exams held in the Salem range, which consists of the Salem, Namakkal, Dharmapuri, and Krishnagiri districts, on Sunday.The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) conducted Group 2 and 2a exams across the State on Sunday. In the Salem district, the exams were conducted in 78 centres. Of the 33,424 candidates who applied for the exams, 26,352 were present and 7,072 absent. Salem District Collector R. Brindha Devi inspected an exam centre at Thalaivasal.In Namakkal district, the exams were conducted in 55 exam centres. Of the 16,109 candidates who applied for the exams, 12,727 candidates attended and 3,382 candidates were absent. Namakkal District Collector Durgamoorthi inspected exam centres in Nallipalayam, Namakkal, and Velur.In Dharmapuri district, the exams were conducted in 65 exam centres on Sunday. Of the 20,109 candidates who applied for the exams, 16,055 candidates attended and 4,054 candidates were absent. District Collector R. Sadheesh inspected exam centres in Athiyamankottai.Likewise, in Krishnagiri district, the exams were conducted in 31 exam centres. Of the 11,039 candidates applied, 8,172 candidates appeared and 2,867 candidates were absent for the exams. District Collector C. Dinesh Kumar inspected an exam centre in Krishnagiri.
