The voter strength in the four Assembly constituencies in Karur district has come down by 53,198 after the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.

The district had 8,45,164 voters as per the final electoral rolls released by Collector M. Thangavel. This included 4,06,027 men, 4,39,054 women, and 83 others. Tthe Karur constituency with 2,26,584 voters was the largest in the district in terms of voter strength while Aravakurichi with 1,94,505 had the least number of voters in the district.

Prior to the SIR, the district had 8,98,362 voters as on October 27, 2025. After the publication of draft electoral rolls in the district, 35,743 voters were added while the names of 9,251 had been deleted, making for a net addition of 26,492 voters in the final rolls. Mr. Thangavel appealed to the voters to verify the final rolls and ensure that their names had been included. Complaints or suggestions could be conveyed by dialling 1950. Applications for inclusions and deletions can be filed through the website https://voters.eci.gov.in or the Voter Help Line App or all recognised public service centres, he said.

Electorate in Pudukottai

Pudukottai district with six assembly constituencies also saw a decrease in total voter strength in the final roll that was released on Monday by the Collector M. Aruna. As per the final roll, the total number of voters stood at 12,98,907. There are 6,41,276 men, 6,57,562 women, and 69 third gender respectively. The electorate size before the commencement of the SIR in the district was 13,94,112. A total of 48,662 voters were added while 4,280 voters were deleted after the publication of the draft electoral roll, a release said.
