The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) released the draft electoral roll for 16 legislative constituencies in the district on Friday, listing a total of 25,79,676 voters. This includes 12,47,690 men, 13,31,243 women, and 743 transpersons.
A total of 14,25,018 voters were deleted due to various reasons, including death, relocation, duplication, and absence, according to a press release.
Overall, the district saw 14,25,018 voter names deleted, accounting for 35.58% of the total 40,04,694 electors as on October 27.
Percentage-wise, Dr. Radhakrishnan Nagar saw the lowest deletions at 24.19% (56,916), while Anna Nagar recorded the highest at 42.18% (1,18,287). In terms of numbers, Velachery constituency saw the highest with 1,27,521 voter names removed, reducing its electors from 3,17,520 to 1,89,999, the GCC said.
