WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump said the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie's mother, 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, was "terrible" and revealed he plans to call the news anchor.

"I think it's terrible," Trump told reporters on Tuesday, Feb. 3 in the Oval Office after he was asked about the case.

Trump said he would support federal help as Arizona law enforcement continues the search for Guthrie's mother, who was reported missing this week. Police have said they are treating her home as a crime scene.

The president also told reporters that it was a "very unusual situation," adding that he's always liked Guthrie.

"I'm going to call her later on," Trump said.
