Savannah Guthrie is giving her first interview since the disappearance of her mom, Nancy Guthrie.
The "Today" anchor sat down for a one-on-one with her close friend Hoda Kotb, who has taken the helm in her absence from the show. In a snippet from the interview shared Wednesday, March 25, Guthrie shared her agony more than 50 days into the tragedy.
"Someone needs to do the right thing. We are in agony. It is unbearable," Guthrie said, tears streaming down her face. "And to think of what she went through. I wake up every night in the middle of the night, every night. And in the darkness, I imagine her terror."
Guthrie's resolve was clear, however.
"It is unthinkable. But those thoughts demand to be thought," she added. "And I will not hide my face. But she needs to come home now."
