March 25 (UPI) -- Savannah Guthrie says her family is "in agony" over her mother Nancy Guthrie's disappearance.

Guthrie, 54, spoke to her former Today co-host Hoda Kotb in a first interview since her mom, Nancy Guthrie, was abducted in January. The interview will air Thursday and Friday on Today.

In an excerpt that aired Wednesday, Guthrie encouraged anyone with information "to do the right thing" and come forward. Nancy Guthrie, 84, was taken from her Tuscon, Ariz., home on Jan. 31.

"We are in agony. We are in agony. It is unbearable," Savannah Guthrie told Kotb through tears.

"And to think of what she went through -- I wake up every night in the middle of the night, every night. And in the darkness, I imagine her terror. And it is unthinkable, but those thoughts demand to be thought. And I will not hide my face," she said.
