The Powerball jackpot rose to $1.27 billion for the Wednesday, Dec. 17, drawing after no one on Monday, Dec. 15, took home the top prize.
If a ticket matches all five numbers plus the Powerball in the 11 p.m. ET drawing, the winner can choose a one-time cash payment of $579.7 million before taxes.
2025 has been a historic year for the Powerball. Back in September, the second-largest jackpot in the game’s history, which was an estimated $1.787 billion, was won by two tickets sold in Montana and Texas.
