The Powerball jackpot rose ahead of the Wednesday, Jan. 28 drawing, now reaching $43 million, with a cash value of $19.4 million.

This year has already seen one Powerball jackpot winner. On Jan. 21, a lucky person in North Carolina took home an estimated $209 million. After coming forward to collect the prize, the winner chose the lump sum payment of $95.3 million.

The winner chose to remain anonymous. Under North Carolina law, winners of more than $50 million can remain anonymous for up to 90 days after claiming their prize.
