The Italian authorities have detained a second sailor in connection with a cyber attack on the Fantastic, a ferry run by Italian company GNV, sources said on Wednesday.
Like the crew member detained in France in relation to the case, the suspect held in Italy was Latvian, the sources said.
The second suspect was detained while on board a ship in Naples.
Malware that could have made it possible to control the Fantastic remotely was found on the ferry while it was docked in the French port of Sete.
