Nick Reiner, the son of Rob and Michele Reiner, was taken into custody Sunday night and is being held on $4 million bail, online jail records show.
Los Angeles Police Department Chief Jim McDonnell said the 32-year-old has been “booked for murder” in their deaths, though the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office told CNN it has not yet filed criminal charges in the case.
“We have our robbery/homicide division handling the investigation. They worked throughout the night on this case and were able to take into custody Nick Reiner, a suspect in this case,” said McDonnell.
The couple were found dead in their Los Angeles area home Sunday with apparent stab wounds, a law enforcement official told The Associated Press.
LAPD Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton told reporters Sunday the force’s Robbery-Homicide division is investigating the deaths.
