In the Norwegian Arctic, there is an archipelago called Svalbard, which is the closest thing Europe has to a visa-free place to stay. Here's an explainer on where it is, how you could live there, and why you might want to.
Svalbard lies between Norway and the North Pole, roughly between 74° and 81° north in the Arctic Ocean. Longyearbyen, the main town, is halfway between Tromsø and the North Pole, making it one of the world's northernmost towns with complete darkness in the winter months and perpetual daylight in the summer.
