A private hospital in the Teynampet Zone was imposed a fine of ₹1 lakh by the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) on Thursday, for placing containers for construction activities on the road, disrupting traffic.
Following the incident, a notice imposing the fine was issued to the private hospital for failing to adhere to guidelines for clean and safe construction practices, according to a press release.
The GCC urged public and private companies, and businesses to avoid causing obstructions to motorists, and warned of action in case of violations such as illegal construction, dumping of debris and waste in unauthorised public spaces.
