In Greece, catchy Romani songs, lavishly decorated weddings and passionate dances lasting through the night have gone viral on TikTok. Stef Tony, a Roma artist from Menidi, a suburb of Athens, posts videos from Roma camps or promotes singers from his community. Musician Stathis Xenos has become a sensation on the platform with his hit "Eimai Roma, mia tzigana mou exei parei ta miala" ("I am Roma, a Gypsy woman has driven me crazy in love"), which has been covered by thousands of users.
There is also a convenience store owner who advertises his products in the Romani language to attract customers from the community, Valentine's Day videos where couples compete to see which man has showered his wife with the most gifts and a bridal shop assistant advising Roma brides, as she says they are often discriminated against in "mainstream" boutiques.
