Some parts of Hyderabad received rain on Wednesday (October 8, 2025) afternoon

Parts of Hyderabad experienced moderate showers on Wednesday afternoon that continued into the evening, offering respite from the sunny conditions earlier in the day. The city had also witnessed rainfall on Tuesday evening in several localities.While many areas received moderate rainfall, some parts remained largely dry. Localities including A.S. Rao Nagar, Moula Ali, Safilguda, AOC, Tolichowki, Mehdipatnam, Jubilee Hills, Kukatpally, Rajendranagar and LB Nagar reported spells of rain, whereas several areas in Secunderabad saw little to no rainfall.Commuters faced minor inconvenience due to waterlogging near the Panjagutta flyover, which led to slow-moving traffic. Congestion was also observed at Ayodhya and Nirankari junctions towards VV Statue.Hyderabad City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar shared photos on X of traffic police personnel regulating traffic during the rains. “Despite the heavy rains in Hyderabad, our traffic police have been working tirelessly on the roads by managing traffic, assisting citizens and ensuring smooth movement across the city. Your dedication and commitment, even in challenging weather, truly deserve appreciation,” he said.According to data from Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS), as of 9 p.m., Begumpet recorded a rainfall of 32.5 mm followed by 28.5 mm in Rajendranagar, 24.3 mm in Asifnagar, 21.8 mm in Tolichowki, 20 mm in Shaikpet, 17 mm in Srinagar Colony, 16.8 mm in Hayathnagar, 16.8 mm in Bowenpally, 16 mm in Bandlaguda and 15.8 mm in Nagole.
